Details

The muscle psoas-iliac connects our trunk with the lower body, it is formed by two portions: the psoas and the iliacus, which go from the abdominal area (where they connect with the last thoracic vertebra and the first five lumbar vertebrae) to the front of the thigh, reaching the femur. This muscle, together with the gluteus, is the major muscle responsible for the hip flexion movement (i.e. the raising of the legs upwards, either unilaterally or separately) and also the trunk deflection. Pathologies of this muscle are very common in athletes as well as in people who lead a sedentary life. The Psoas Iliacus Muscle Sheet Part 1 will help you to understand the reasons for the shortening of this muscle and its symptoms.
